Last night, we had our third Christmas practice, and it was so much fun! I think we're all a little tired with the year coming to a close and all that that entails; we were all popping off with crazy things and laughing A LOT. We learned Happy Christmas (War Is Over) and Joy To The World. Let me just say...the more you say "And heav'n and nature sing", the funnier it becomes. Viviyan and I were singing, and all of a sudden it became seriously funny, and we couldn't stop laughing. Happy Christmas is a little slower, so not exactly perky and upbeat, but I still think it'll be fun to sing!
"Is it has or is?"
"Is...that's the usual."
"Well, the book says how, so I just wanted to clarify."
"The book is WRONG!"
(About Joy To The World...All said in good fun, of course!)
"Credence Clearwater? It's Three Dog Night!"
"Yeah, we already established that over here!"
(On who sings the other Joy To The World LOL).
We went over the other songs we've learned (Oh Holy Night, A Baby Changes Everything, Shake Up Christmas, Go Tell It On The Mountain, The Messiah Came, and Don't Save It All For Christmas Day). I'm so excited for the concert! It's going to be a blast. We're having our dress rehearsal and full run through in a couple weeks; should be great :)

It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year
I can't believe Thanksgiving has already come and gone, and now we are entering the Christmas season. For some reason, it doesn't feel like it at all. So it might take a little longer to find the Christmas cheer, but I am determined to find it SOON! :D

Christmas Practice #1
Tonight went really well! We have such a big group this year; it's incredible that each year the choir grows. We went over the parts for "The Messiah Came" and "Don't Save It All (For Christmas Day)", which we did last year, so it was pretty easy to pick up again. Once we went over it a time or two, I could hear the parts. The most time consuming things to work on are the "oohs" and "aahs", because they're so tedious. You have to get them just right or they sound weird.
It's so fun having everyone together. It's the one time of year when anyone and everyone from the church comes together to make this happen, and it couldn't have gone better. The laughs and smiles on everyone's faces as we joke around and come up with wacky things, just really makes my heart feel warm and fuzzy; it's family. I feel really special to be apart of bringing others to Christ. That's what it's all about; the rest of it is all just minor details that can be worked out. It's important that we not lose sight of that. :) God has a big plan for each of us in this, no matter how small or insignificant we may feel at times, He's got it all planned out...I'm trusting Him.
Keep following the star,

P.S. Next week, I know we're working on "A Baby Changes Everything" and "Oh Holy Night"; both are tough songs, so it'll practice will probably be a little longer ;) I'm ready! Haha.
