Things I'm Loving...

This was probably Carrie's best production to date; complete with costume changes, a nice mixture of old and new songs, as well as phenomenal lighting and other surprises along the way, like a floating stage hovering over the audience! Her first live DVD gives those, who weren't able to attend a live show, a chance to see what all the hype was about. She definitely deserved an Entertainer of the Year nomination and should get one for the CMA's in November, because from the sounds of it, they've been flying off the shelves in its first week. What I love most about concert DVD's like this is that you get to see a lot of behind the scenes footage- the process of how the show comes together, what it's like before going on stage, and more. I wish there would've been more, but I'm glad we still got a quick glimpse of the fabulous life that Carrie leads. I highly recommend giving this a watch if you're a Carrie fan, a country fan, or even just a music fan in general. She is one of the best entertainers and singers of all time, and I don't think people fully understand how great she really is.

I've had a really big obsession with red lipstick over the last year or so, but was always a little too afraid to try it out, because I don't really do anything too exciting or stand out-ish with my makeup. I like to stick to the basics. I was finally brave enough to try it out and fell in love with it. I fee so bold and daring, especially for a night out on the town. It's like an immediate confidence booster. The picture is of the "Red Revolution" color I bought from Maybelline's line.

Lea Michele has been the talk of Hollywood for the past month or so, since the passing of boyfriend, Cory Monteith. I've always thought she was incredibly talented, but wasn't always necessarily a huge fan. After re-watching the entire series again from beginning to now, I have a new appreciation for Lea, as well as her character, Rachel Berry, and can see her through fresh eyes. I love how determined and focused she was, but now, I admire her for her strength and how positive she seems to be, even in the midst of her grieving. I'm inspired by her work ethic and the fact that nothing is out of reach for her. She embraces who she is and what she looks like, and encourages others to do the same. I also love that she is very involved with charities and giving back. I really look up to her and will continue to support her in her future endeavors! Also looking forward to her book that's coming out in the very near future.

Cotton Candy grapes have always been big around my town, because that's where they're based out of, but apparently as of lately they have caught on to other parts of the country. I was actually friends with the daughter of the grapery's owner, in high school, but only just had them about a week or so ago. Recently, they've been getting a lot of attention, being featured on Ryan Seacrest's "On Air" radio show and Good Morning America. I'm not totally sure how or if you can order them living out of state, but if you're ever in California, you have to try them. Freakishly, they do taste like cotton candy, but not in a weird way; they still have the "grapeyness" taste in them. They are delicious and refreshing, especially for the summer months.

Back in June, during CMA Fest, I visited the Chris Young booth at the convention center. I was really bummed about not being able to meet him, but I thought I would pick up a little souvenir to make up for it. I didn't have much money left, so I was trying to find something cheaper, when I saw these "Aw Naw" neon sunglasses for 5$. I can be rough on glasses and tend to lose them a lot, so these were perfect for me. I bought the yellow pair and have worn them nonstop since I got them. They fit snug, which I love and I don't have to worry about them too much if I toss them into my purse, which works out nicely. I kind of want all the colors now!

Everyone by now knows my love for Glee, especially if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram. I am constantly posting something about this fabulous show. But, something that makes it so special is all of the incredible music that always fits so perfectly for whatever occasion or story line they're dealing with. I can't get enough of it, and I love how they tackle music from just about every genre and every decade. I've bought most of Cory's duets and solos, and I have several of the CD's. I don't know that I will ever own all of the music, because there's a ton, but I will definitely buy all of my favorites and make playlists according to the season and occasion.

I know these might look a little silly, but I think "Thumb Wars" is onto a really great campaign regarding the "No texting while driving" thing. I first heard about these on the Do Something Awards. I originally looked them up regarding a scholarship contest they were doing, but after reading more about the idea behind this organization, I was all for it. Now that I'm starting to drive, and obviously most of my friends drive, I want us to all be cautious and to stay safe while behind the wheel. It's so easy to get distracted behind the wheel, as I'm starting to see, and I want to make a pledge to myself that I will NEVER do that. Life is short enough as it is, and I sure don't want to end it, because I just couldn't put my phone down for a few minutes. It almost makes me really angry to see people text while driving, because all it takes is a split second to change your life forever or take it away way too soon. I think these are great reminders to STOP! If thumb socks are what it takes to remind all of us, then I say so be it.

I had been to one of these stores in Nashville a couple years ago, and instantly loved it. It has everything-shoes, purses, jewelry...All of my favorite things. Well, then I found out we were getting one too, and couldn't be more excited! I've been in there a couple times so far, and know those won't be the last. I'm just wondering where it was when I really needed it for high school occasions like formal and prom?! Now, I hope to have something coming up in the future, just so I can have an excuse to buy all of the things in there to dress up whatever outfit I have.

Charles Kelley's (Lady Antebellum) wife, Cassie, has a blog that I'm really into right now, "Womanista." She has so many great articles about fashion, traveling, decor, music, and much more. Some of it is a little out of my price range, but I definitely appreciate her take on things and just getting to see the lifestyle of a musician's wife who was in the PR field. She has great style and is gorgeous, so I just love seeing what she has up her sleeve.

I have always had a thing for headbands. My freshman year of high school, I used to have one in just about every color and would always try to match them up with whatever I was wearing. Although, after a couple years of wearing them nonstop, they started hurting my head, so I just quit wearing them, until recently. Carrie Underwood has started yet another trend with the Pink Pewter headbands she's been seen wearing all over the place from appearances to being photographed out and about. They have so many adorable styles to choose from...But, in the meantime, while being a broke college student, I found a couple really great headbands for much cheaper at Charming Charlie's. Something about wearing them just makes me feel that much cooler and dresses up any outfit! I LOVE them! I need more!

I know the media gives the Kardashians a lot of crap, and I'll admit I pick on them from time to time, too. But, I still just really love them! I love how close they are, even if it gets a little weird sometimes. It makes me wish I had a big family like they do; always hanging out, taking big trips together, and even just driving each other crazy! I like taking a step inside their crazy world for an hour each week to forget about what's going on in my life to hang out with them. I don't care what anyone else says...they ARE entertaining and hilarious.

I've followed a lot of Glee fan sites lately on Instagram, who have been posting a lot of their own edits with the characters/actors from the show. One girl said she used the app "Super Impose", so I decided to look it up. It's really confusing, like a mini photoshop for your phone, but if you keep messing around with it, you'll find that it has a lot of features. I've been able to do a few things with it, but I need to keep working with it and reading more about it to be able to use all of the tools and all that it comes with.

Like most girls/women, I have a hard time finding a good pair of shorts that fit my body type. So, when I do find that one perfect pair, I wear them just about everyday, like the boyfriend denim shorts I got at Gap. I don't go in Gap too often, but I happened to go inside at the Santa Monica 3rd Street Promenade, because they were having a huge sale! The shorts were only 25$, which was a fantastic deal, because I can't stop wearing them. You can dress them up with a nicer blouse and sandals, or just a simple t-shirt. They're loose and comfortable, and not too short, where you feel like you have to keep adjusting them! Boyfriend style is the perfect way to go!

Well, that's all for now,
Shelby :)

CMA Awards

I've been meaning to get around to writing my review of the CMA Awards, but things were a little busy around my house right after, so I kept forgetting. Now that we're approaching "award season" in Hollywood, I figured now was as good of a time as any.

First off, let's talk about the red carpet! Everyone knows that truly is the most important part of any awards show. It's also usually the most exciting! Everyone looked gorgeous, but I had a few favorites that stood out.
Jana Kramer
Lucy Hale
Taylor Swift
Carrie Underwood
Lauren Alaina
I still have not watched Carrie and Brad's opening in its entirety, but from what I saw, it was pretty hilarious. I love their comedic timing and just their friendship in general. I think it really shines through when they write their jokes and plan out what they're going to do every year. I'm telling you, they should take their routine on the road or at least do a holiday variety show. I know I'd like to spend the holidays with Carrie and Brad.

As for the rest of the night, I was a little disappointed. Maybe it was just the fact that I was watching from the hospital room that threw things off, but I wasn't happy about most of the winners, and not just because of the fact that no one by the last names of Underwood, Swift or Antebellum didn't win. The last few years, they might as well have just called it the Blake and Miranda show, because they win everything anyway. The one I really don't agree with is Blake Shelton, and not just because I'm not a big fan. I don't think he has deserved it yet. He hasn't been doing much this year, other than The Voice, and he sure hasn't toured like the others have, when you consider all of the touring and promotion that Taylor, Brad, and Kenny have done. I just don't understand what the association is looking for. Apparently, you have to be on a reality show to win now.

Here's the complete list of winners, thanks to USA Today:

Another highlight for me was waiting to see what Carrie Underwood wore. She had twelve wardrobe changes! There were a few I wasn't too crazy about, but it's always fun to see what she chooses, since it's such a flashy night! My top two were the second and the last dresses in the picture below.

I really did enjoy Taylor Swift's performance of Begin Again, though. I loved that it was more toned down, and the setting was adorable; fitting perfectly with the song, which I love about Taylor's set designs and the way she strategically plans for these award shows.
I had so much hope for these awards, especially because they're my favorite. To me, the CMA's have always gone a different route than the others, and have truly honored the people that deserved it, whether it was who I wanted to win or not. They proved me wrong this year. So, hopefully the next few award shows, won't be quite as disappointing, and here's to the CMA's next year...May they be better than they were this time. At least Carrie and Brad made for an entertaining time.
That's all for now,
Shelby

Carrie Underwood Concert Review

WOW.WOW.WOW.WOW. WOW. Carrie Underwood has done it again; she never ceases to amaze me at just how talented she is, and with every headlining tour, she just gets better and better. I skipped my creative writing class, just in case something ultra exciting with Hunter Hayes or Carrie took place at our radio station. Unfortunately, it did not, so I lounged around the house getting ready.

A little before 4 o'clock, my mom and I started getting ready and headed off to put gas in the car, then had lunch/dinner at Chic-Fil-A. The anticipation was really starting to build then, and I was starting to yammer on about who knows what. I tend to talk a lot and fast when I'm nervous or excited. After we finished eating, we realized we didn't really have as much time as we'd anticipated, but still had plenty of time. We drove to Rabobank Arena, picked up our meet&greet passes at will call, then waited for Mina to take us to the designated area to meet Carrie.

We talked to a few people that were from the fan club, then we all lined up and headed inside. We made a quick stop at the merchandise table, where there was so much to choose from, that it was a good thing I was broke...Well, kind of. Everyone bought pictures, t-shirts, or whatever else they wanted and we were off to line-up. After only a few minutes of waiting, we reached the room which was dimly lit with "Blown Away" themed colors (i.e blue, gray, purple), with a few tables spread around topped with candles. There were a couple directors chairs with Carrie's name and "Blown Away Tour" written  on them, which I said would look quite nice in my room. It smelled of incense, and had a very (dare I say it) T-Party room vibe to it. There was a TV set up playing random Carrie videos or sketches of her and Brad Paisley hosting the CMA Awards. While we were waiting in line, I joked with my mom that I wanted Mina's job, the one who is in charge of the meet and greets, and is basically her assistant. I was like "Well, a meet and greet line is how Taylor Swift met her (former) backup singer, Liz!" My mom added, "It's also how Kevin met Danielle (Married To Jonas)" To which I added, "Technically, it's how Carrie met Mike, even though it was a mutual friend with Mark." One of these days, something really magical is going to happen for me in a meet and greet line, and it won't just be to meet a celebrity! HA! The people before us went, then all of a sudden it was my turn to meet Carrie.

I walked around the corner, where the curtain background was set up, and there was Carrie. I'm still always speechless at how flawless the girl always looks. She shook my hand, and we said hi to one another. I was really hoping she would remember me again, but if she did, she didn't say anything. I stood there for a minute, not really knowing whether I should wait for her to look up or what, then I just started talking. The meet and greet was a lot more rushed than usual, so the whole thing happened extremely fast. When we got out, it was a bit of a blur. Neither one of us could've told you the shirt color she was wearing. My mom said gray, and I was thinking white (as you can see in the picture, it is black. We were wrong). I don't think she really had time to look at anyone either the way it was moving, haha. Here's how the conversation went in script form:

Me: So, are you guys watching any TV shows on the bus this time around? I know it's usually like Grey's Anatomy or something like that? (While she's signing my picture)
Carrie: I'm a really big fan of The Walking Dead, so we're into that
Me: Oh, that's right! You're a zombie fan!
Carrie: (She said something agreeing with me, but I can't exactly remember what, then she immediately stood off to the side, posing for the picture, so I followed)
Me: (After we took the picture, I glanced over to the side table to see that the gift bag I'd brought in earlier had been set aside, and I had planned to give it to her) Oh yeah, I was going to ask you if you wanted to wear what we got you tonight, (pointed towards my mom) She's a moderator on your site.
Carrie: (Sort of gives a deer in the headlights look) Uh, it depends on what it is!
Me: I promise it's not anything crazy or weird! (my mom also says something along those lines)
(Her people hand her the bag, and I'm not really sure whether she's going to open it or not)
Carrie: Let's see what it is (she continues to pull it out  to see a "Bakersfield Sound" shirt) Oh, Bakersfield Sound! Cool! (For some reason I said it out loud with her like she wouldn't get it..Dumb me! LOL)
Me: I thought you could wear when you're on the stage above the audience. I know sometimes you wear things that represent that town or whatever...
Mom: We thought you could wear it on the raft stage (just clarifying what I'd said...)
Carrie: Okay, yeah. I'll have to try it on and we'll see how it fits and everything! Thank you!
I moved off to the side, so my mom could make her way in for her time with Carrie.
Me: Thank you!
The shirt we bought her!

Autograph! I wanted to have her write, "You shine like a diamond, glitter like gold..." But, there didn't seem to be enough time for that! Maybe next time..LOL
My mom talked to her a few minutes, telling her how she had been a moderator on her site for three years now, and also how she had to make sure that she didn't schedule her surgery for the time of the concert. Carrie said, "I hope it was nothing serious like an appendicitis or anything," with this worried face. My mom reassured her that it wasn't; they took their picture, and Carrie continued to thank her for everything. We finished up, said goodbye to her security guard, and the security in the hallway pointed us in the direction to find our seats. We found them with no problem, and waited for the show to begin.

Hunter Hayes was her opening act, and I couldn't have been more thrilled. Hunter is such a musical genius; he plays basically every instrument, writes his own stuff, and he's a true visionary for everything that he's doing. I call him the male version of Taylor Swift, just a couple years younger. But, he has the maturity of someone who has probably been in the business at least ten or so years. I saw him perform at CMA Fest over the summer, and he was seriously a big highlight for me. After seeing his performance of "Wanted", where the entire stadium of LP Field was involved, I became an even bigger fan of his. What a lot of people don't know is he has been around in the business for most of his life, even having written "Play" for Rascal Flatts. He was just as good last night; singing his radio hits and a few of his other catchier melodies that had people bobbing their heads along, and feeling the music. I don't think it'll be too long before he's headlining shows of his own...This kid's going to be BIG!
However, during most of Hunter's set, I was trying to figure out what setting to use so the pictures wouldn't come out horrible. By the time I started finding something that would work, he was almost finished. There were a few decent pictures, though.

There was a short intermission between Hunter and Carrie, of course. My dad made it just in time! We filled him in on the details of the meet and greet, though it was extremely hard to hear, because the music was blaring in there. We saw a few people from church that we knew, which was cool! It seems like concerts always bring the entire community out, basically. Then, the arena lights went out and Carrie made her entrance to the stage.

Set List (If you don't want to know...Don't keep reading):
  1. Good Girl
  2. Undo It
  3. Wasted
  4. I Told You So
  5. Two Black Cadillacs
  6. Last Name
  7. All American Girl
  8. Temporary Home
  9. Jesus Take The Wheel (I miss the days when she would sing How Great Thou Art with it)
  10. Cowboy Casanova
  11. Get Out Of This Town
  12. Nobody Ever Told You
  13. Thank God For Hometowns
  14. Crazy Dreams
  15. Do You Think About Me
  16. One Way Ticket
  17. Leave Love Alone (Duet with Hunter Hayes)
  18. Sweet Emotion
  19. Remind Me
  20. Cupid's Got A Shotgun
  21. Before He Cheats
  22. **Encore** I Know You Won't
  23. **Encore** Blown Away

It wouldn't be a Carrie Underwood show without costume changes, and there were plenty of them! The cool thing about this tour wardrobe is that she said she doesn't plan on wearing the same thing twice. There are a lot of mix and match pieces so she can switch it up every night! The awesome factor doesn't just stop there, either. Her graphics and effects are fantastic this time. Her Play On tour had a lot of great elements, but I think they just built on from there this time around. Everything had such a constant flow to it, and went along perfectly with the title track, and the rest of the music.

I couldn't think of a better title for this tour, other than what it is, "Blown Away," because that's exactly what you are after seeing this show! My favorite part of the concert was the floating stage above the audience. It was going to be the moment of truth as to whether she had decided to wear the shirt I'd given or not. I was afraid she'd walk out and I'd be disappointed that she'd chosen something else...When I saw the yellow of the Bakersfield sign from a distance. I was freaking out that she had actually worn it! I definitely teared up, and my parents and I looked at each other, like "Wow!" What do you say to something like that?! Looking at this picture, I still can't believe it actually happened. Then, right before she sang "Thank God For Hometowns," she talked about how cool it is to know you have somewhere like your hometown to rely on when things are crazy, and mentioned all of us from Bakersfield. I might complain about it here a lot, or that I don't want to be stuck here the rest of my life, but in that moment, I don't think I'd ever been more proud to be a "Bakersfieldian."

Not only was it the best part of the show, because she wore my shirt, but because a lot of my favorite songs were in this segment. Her last song, "One Way Ticket" is always such a blast to hear live! It's one that she really lets loose on, and so does the crowd. There were beach balls flying all around, confetti falling to the ground, and everyone was waving their arms around like they didn't have a care in the world. I think it was a lot more natural for her to do some of the more "cutesy" songs, and made everyone else just smile.

The rest of the concert was honestly a blur, because I couldn't get over the fact that she had worn the shirt, which probably sounds lame, but I was extremely excited! She sang several more songs, then came back out for the encore after minutes of chanting "Carrie! Carrie! Carrie!" She returned in her Blown Away dress, with the background designed as if we were in Kansas and a twister was about to hit. She sang a slow song, then knocked it out of the park with Blown Away. Her vocals get better and better every time. After the thunder stopped rolling, lighting stopped flashing, and the last confetti had fallen to the ground, Carrie said goodbye for the last time, and exited the stage. What a blast! It was certainly a night I will never forget.

After the concert ended, and we made our way to the front entrance, I was dying of thirst and so ready to get out. But, my mom wanted to make one last trip to the merch table. I ran into one of our good family friends, Mandy, and she told us all about her eventful night in the show. They'd gotten beer poured on them, because they wanted to stand up for a couple songs. CRAZY! I filled her in on meeting Carrie and all that jazz, and she left a few minutes later. After waiting awhile in line, my mom got a Carrie shirt and phone cover, while I got a Hunter Hayes shirt. We walked back to the car and drove my dad over to his parking lot, then headed home.

I was on a buzz the rest of the night. I watched an episode of The Vampire Diaries, and tried to call it a night, but it just wasn't working. Everything that had happened just kept running through my head, and I couldn't wait to see my meet and greet photo, which I got this afternoon. Around 2:30 or so, after flipping through the TV channels and a few dozen tosses and turns, I was finally able to fall asleep.

Thank you, Carrie Underwood, for yet another incredible memory for the books!

That's all for now,
Shelby

Carrie Underwood Is Coming To Town (Tomorrow)

Carrie Underwood is one of my favorite people on this entire planet. I love what she stands for, her music, the way she handles herself in the public eye, her fashion sense, how she's an activist, the fact that we are similar in so many ways (journalism majors, close to our moms, can be a little on the quiet side at times), and she is truly the epitome of class. I have defended her like no other too. You mess with her, you mess with me. I'm sorry, that's just the way it is! :)

Tomorrow, I will be attending her concert at Rabobank Arena in my city! I have heard nothing but amazing things about this show, and I truly believe this is Carrie at her best, theatrically and musically. She really showcases her best vocal ranges on this CD and I can't wait to hear a lot of the songs live. She blows me away every time, and this will be no different. From the pictures I've seen, it's really different from the headlining tours she has done before, which is exciting! Plus, I'm extremely excited about Hunter Hayes; He's super talented at everything (songwriting, singing, playing instruments).

Having followed Carrie from the very first day of her journey, it has been so cool to see how far she has come. I have made so many wonderful friends and memories myself, along the way! In some ways, I don't feel like she's Carrie Underwood the superstar. To me, I feel like she's an acquaintance! The last time I really talked to her, she said remembered my mom and I, and I just about freaked out. I know I was screaming on the inside. When we met her at Jimmy Kimmel, it was dark and happened really fast, so I'm thinking she just didn't pay much attention that night. But, I know that she has remembered plenty of people from the fan club; giving specific memories, which is really cool to me.

Crossing my fingers that she'll remember us tomorrow night at the meet and greet! If not, it's totally cool and I'm excited anyway. But, I had a dream the other night that I was in the meet and greet line, and we had just made our way up to Carrie, after anxiously awaiting our turn. I said, "Hey Carrie! Do you remember me?" as she started to sign my picture, waiting for her to burst into a huge smile or to get really excited. She looked up at me, and was like, "No, sorry, I don't!" So...That pretty much scared me off from directly asking her whether she remembers us. HAHA. I laugh, but seriously....

Either way, I'm so excited and anxious for tomorrow night! I'm even skipping the one class I have tomorrow in order to prepare ;) LOL. I will be sure to update you lovely folks on everything. Though, it might be a couple days because the meet and greet pictures won't be posted right away!

That's all for now,
Shelby :)

Prepared To Be Blown Away

Yesterday was one of the best days ever! I woke up a little earlier than usual, so I could check out American Idol tour tickets with my mom when they went on sale and check for new Carrie tickets. We ended up getting them, which I was really excited about...two AWESOME tours coming up in just a short amount of time.  I took a shower and started getting ready to head to LA, did my devotion and hung around for awhile. I had gotten super sick the night before (extremely dizzy, bad headache, etc.). I still felt really nauseous, but I was getting better. I ate some soup and just took it easy. Besides, there was no way I could miss Carrie; I knew I wouldn't be that sick when it came down to it.  Just a short time later, a couple ladies from the Carrie Underwood fan club picked us up and we all headed down to see Carrie at Jimmy Kimmel. It was fun catching up with her, because we hadn't seen each other since last year in Nashville for CMA Fest. She told us all about the listening party and some of Carrie's stories and all that jazz.

We got to the Hollywood and Highland shopping center around three or so and had time to kill before check in. We decided to walk around by Mann's Chinese Theater; I wanted to stop to see Jennifer Aniston's handprints on the sidewalk, but I still didn't see it. After a few minutes of searching, we ended up going across the street to Coffee Bean to get something to drink. In front of us in line was Charlie Chaplin and Zorro and across the street, a freakish clone of Michael Jackson was just standing in front of the theater staring at everyone. Only in Hollywood... The characters really make me anxious, so I'm not a big fan of walking around down there LOL. We met the other two at Baja Fresh and ate. While we were eating, they were filming something outside, but down there that's nothing out of the ordinary. Later, I found out they were filming for that new show, LA Complex! I definitely want to check it out now. Then we decided to go back to the car to put our stuff away for the taping. Then, it was time to get in line.

We met so many nice people while waiting for Carrie and of course, they were all fans too! It was fun hearing their stories of shows they'd been to or where they'd seen Carrie. Carrie and her band even came out for a sound check, so it was like we got to hear the show twice. It got us even more pumped up. In that time we were waiting, I kept checking Twitter every few minutes for updates on Idol and was SO MAD about the elimination. Just a few minutes later, my aunt tweeted me saying she had gotten tickets for the taping of next week's Idol show, but with Hollie being gone now it doesn't matter to me, so I think we'll pass this time. Sad day... I happened to see that Colton Dixon had tweeted he was at the Beverly Center mall, which wasn't too far from where I was at. If I hadn't been in line to see Carrie, I would've been trying to make my way over there LOL.
I also got a chance to hang out with a couple other friends I'd met through American Idol and One Tree Hill. My friend, Yolanda was actually going to another concert after the taping and it just so happened that it was a guy from my church; his parents and my parents go way back. They're an up and coming band, Satellite! You should check them out sometime. If you're a One Tree Hill fan, their song, "Ring The Bells" was on during season 7. We continued talking about American Idol (and who had gotten sent home-more on that later), musicians and Carrie's CD. My friend, Rebecca is interning with ABC for a few months out here, so she was telling me about some of the stuff she's been doing and what she's been up to. I also filled her in on the latest update with my school, which was definitely less exciting. The waiting seemed to go by pretty fast. I guess after waiting at least seven or so hours before getting into American Idol and surviving everything at CMA Fest, that didn't seem so bad at all. It helped that we had really nice people around us to help the time go by.

We went through the metal detectors and I ended up running into my friend Meagan (also in the fan club), who called us over towards the front row. We were able to get really close thanks to her, which was awesome! However, when they moved us up closer to the stage before Carrie came out, we got pushed back a little further because people decided to cut in front. We still had quite awhile to wait while the show filmed, so we talked to people around us! Rebecca ended up seeing one of the girls that's on General Hospital, since she's an intern for them. I was sort of hoping we'd run into her; she seemed nice. They showed us the episode of Jimmy Kimmel, and it was crazy to think they were all just inside at the studio in front of us. It was a little hard to see, but you could hear everything and that was all that mattered. After Carrie's interview, Jimmy Kimmel headed outside to the concert area (which is not as big as it seems on TV), and Carrie was just behind him. By that time, I had started not feeling so well again. My head was pounding and I was starting to feel a little dizzy, but I wasn't going to let that hold me back from an awesome time. Carrie stepped on stage and I forgot all about that. She sang Good Girl, Wasted, Leave Love Alone, Before He Cheats, and for the first time ever in front of an audience, One Way Ticket. It was the perfect setting for that one; we were outside, the breeze was blowing and we were all just having a great time, waving our hands in the air. I can't wait to hear that one again on tour! She just seems to really be into it and more laid back. Me and Rebecca kept glancing at each during that one and Before He cheats; rocking to and singing our hearts out. I can't remember the last time I've felt so carefree! HAHA. After her set was over, a few people near us kept cheering for a couple more songs, to which she responded, "We don't know anymore, that's all we practiced," in this shy voice. It was funny! She's quite hilarious as we all saw in that parody of Before He Cheats with Jimmy.

Here's a video I put together of all of the performances she did :)

When the show was over, my friend told us about where she has to come out to leave. We weren't quite sure if we were going to stay, but we saw this huge crowd waiting for her, and thought we'd go over for a few minutes to check it out. As soon as we saw the crowd when we got closer,  we were all thinking she wouldn't sign and if she did, it would only be for a few people. She totally proved me wrong! She stayed for a good 30 minutes and signed for just about everyone. When she got to me, she signed my paper I had put over the fence and I asked if we could get a picture. I was like can you just look up for a second, please? And she did! I felt her slip the paper through the fence to me, while my mom was taking a picture. It turned out to be a video! HAHAHAHAH. So, we're just awkwardly standing there for a second, but I took a screenshot of it, so you wouldn't really have any idea if I hadn't said anything. LOL. I told her I couldn't wait for the Fan club party, but I think she was already further down when I said it, so she didn't hear me. We stuck around for a few minutes, just watching her sign things and hanging out. I was so glad Rebecca got to meet Carrie as well, because she's been wanting to; just wish it would've worked out to get a picture! I couldn't have been happier after the day we'd had.

It was so good to see Carrie again! For some reason it's always weird going a length of time without seeing her, because when she's on tour or promoting something, she's just always around it seems like.  I think this album shows just how comfortable she really is with herself, her stage presence and how genuinely happy she is with her life. As crazy as it is, I've met so many incredible people through her! She has made such a positive impact on my life and has brought me so many incredible memories. We headed home shortly after that, still on a high from everything that happened. We stopped at In-N-Out for dinner, then continued our drive. We listened to Carrie and talked about our favorite songs, while Jamie shared some of the stories that Carrie had told them at the CD listening party. By the time we got home, I was so wiped out, but I was still texting and instagram-ing photos from the night.

I can't wait to see Carrie again in just a couple weeks! It should be a ton of fun :)

That's all for now,
