The Weekly Review

Yet another week has gone by, and there are a few details to share! As we get further into the school year, things are starting to drag on a little more, yet speed by at the same time. It's quite complicated, if you ask me. Anyway, it was a good week filled with new Taylor Swift music and appearances, a new car and a few things in between, so here's the weekly review!

Monday:
I spent most of my morning cramming math homework in, nearly pulling my hair out or throwing something across the room, until I decided I couldn't take it anymore, and got ready for the day. I painted my nails with red polish, in honor of Taylor Swift's new CD, and added a few other red items to my wardrobe that day. My mom came home from her doctor's appointment, and after only a few minutes, we were out the door to buy Red. We arrived at Target, and it was the moment I had been waiting for. We rushed to the entertainment department, and at first glance, it looked like they didn't have it, because that store is notorious for not having things that we're looking for. I glanced down a couple rows, and there it was shining in all of its glory. I picked up my copy, payed for it, and we were on our way, rocking out to it, as we headed to the grocery store.
The rest of the afternoon was less than glamorous. In fact, it included several meltdowns and a few shrieks into a pillow. The more problems of math I started working out, it became more about how my life was flashing before my eyes, and I felt like I would be stuck in school forever. I cried on my mom's shoulder, and felt a little better after that. I felt stupid for making it such a big deal, but to me, when this is what I'm dealing with right now, it is a big deal. I decided to give homework a rest after that to catch my breath, then FINALLY listened to Taylor's new album and started editing a video that my friend and I had worked on.

Tuesday:
My friend, Michele, usually picks me up at 9:00, but she was still in a meeting, so she picked me up a bit later. I was dreading going to school, and still wasn't feeling well, so I was not wanting to go at all. I passed the time by watching some of the Pretty Little Liar marathon on ABC Family, anticipating the Halloween episode that night. AH!

Michele picked me up, and we drove to school, and somehow ended up on the topic of school and feeling stuck. Once again, I'm not the only who is trying to figure everything out with the future, wondering what it holds and whether I'm on the right track or not. We talked about losing hope and doubting God, trying to handle things on our own, and how it's time to believe that big things are going to happen again. God knows the very thing that we need and when we need it. It was everything that my heart needed to express. I hate feel hopeless and not putting my trust in God that He's going to change things around. That stirred some ideas in me, which was something I hadn't felt in awhile.
Class was okay, but nothing out of the ordinary, which I'm craving right now. I just want a little excitement. Nothing bad or for anyone around me to experience pain or a devastating time in their life, but I want an adventure. I want to get lost in a city I've never been to and talk to strangers. I do not, however, want to sit in a room full of creative writing students talking about a bunch of wacky stories and poems for the 18,000th time.
I came home, finished homework, and just relaxed. Then, I had to submit a story or poem for my last critique in creative writing. I tore up my room looking for something I'd already written and searched just about every file on my computer for something in the works. I finally threw something together, but  I'm sure it isn't my best work. I'm sure they'll let me know, though ;). Luckily, I was feeling a bit better after the previous dealings the day before. And I dedicated the rest of my night to watching the Pretty Little Liars Halloween episode, while eating Twizzlers and Starbursts on my bed. It was glorious!

I love how much of a "fan girl" Sophia is for PLL

This episode was crazy.
Wednesday:
Ah, Wednesday, how I love thee. This is usually my catch up/relax day. I woke up, watched TV, did some homework, stayed in my pj's, went for a bike ride, and did nothing some more. It was nice!
That night, I went with my parents out to our Toyota car dealership just to look at cars, and of course, we listened to the new Taylor Swift CD on the way out there.
We made our way through the parking lot of cars, joking and laughing with one another, and shivering because it was SO COLD! Winter is definitely right around the corner. I'm liking it. I was just glad I was finally able to wear one of my favorite sweaters.

Thursday:
Once again, I carpooled with Michele to Taft for class. I went to the library to kill time, after we made it to school, and caught up with my friend, Amanda. We talked about our creative writing class, as always, and our majors; what we hope to do with them. We got a little work done, but a majority was spent talking. I was totally okay with that, though.
Class was the same, and I think I probably tuned out most of the time, but it wasn't as bad as it could have been.
My mom had text me to eat without her once I got home, so I did. She was at Toyota, dealing with car stuff, so I was on my own for the rest of the afternoon. I did some homework, watched a lot of TV, and even started working on my story that Rebecca and I are working on. It was a pretty productive afternoon, and then I just started getting downright bored. My mom was texting me updates of how things were going down at the dealership, so that was keeping me entertained for awhile.
Haha my mom is the white bubble. She's awesome!  And that is the name of our car now :)
My mom finally came home around 7:30 or so, with a brand new car! We touched up our makeup, got ready, then met my dad back at the car dealership. After that was taken care of, we had dinner at Chipotle. I don't think it has ever tasted so good. Just kidding, it totally has, but I was hungry.
I came home, got ready for bed, and watched The Vampire Diaries. I think I was mainly so excited about this episode in order to get to next week's, because there is supposed to be a lot of magic between Damon and Elena. ;) I'm all for that!

I WANT TO GOOOO!
Friday:
My mom and I had planned to wake up early, go to breakfast and run some errands before 1:00. Well, there ended up being a lot of things my mom had to take care of before then, so we didn't leave until 11, which messed things up a bit. I, instead spent my morning scrapbooking some things from my favorite fashion magazines. Yup, I'm a nerd! We ran our errands and decided to have lunch at Panera since it was close by. I had broccoli cheese soup and half a Turkey sandwich, which was delicious. I'm so glad it's finally fall, and I can order hot meals like that, and not look crazy.
Someone came by our house around 1, to look at a couch we were selling, and they ended up wanting it, which was great. I spent the rest of the afternoon catching up on recorded Taylor Swift appearances, drinking hot tea, and getting on Tumblr/WeHeartIt.
Later on that night, we met my dad for dinner at Chic-Fil-A, where we talked about making arrangements for a day trip with my grandparents on Saturday and of course, the ever present topic, Taylor Swift. I am in the family, after all. A five minute conversation with me? She's bound to come  up somehow; it's inevitable.
I had wanted to go to bed possibly a little earlier, but that didn't happen. I watched Gossip Girl, a few minutes of Don't Look Under The Bed, and fell asleep around 2 or so a.m.

I decided to have a photoshoot with the pumpkins because I was bored....

What a week! All good stuff. That's all for now,
Shelby :)

Shelby's Favorite Things

I was reading a blog tonight, when I came across one of the girl's post that was a list of her favorite things, inspired by Oprah. As a Journalism major, I've always admired Oprah for her talent and the success she's had. As a matter of fact, who doesn't?
Over the years of Oprah's show, I always looked forward most to seeing her "Favorite Things" show, as I'm sure her audience did too, for the obvious reasons...FREEBIES. Sometimes, I still imagine, if I had a talk show right now...What would I give away? Well, today you're in luck, because I'm going to give you a list of some things I LOVE and think you should all check out too. This is probably the longest post I've ever written. Enjoy!

    • The complete series of: Gilmore Girls, One Tree Hill, and Friends. These shows have made my life so much brighter in so many ways. They've each helped me at different times in my life, and I feel like they've taught me the most life lessons. There's an episode I refer back to for just about every situation. I call these my "go to" shows, because I know they've never let me down. When friends aren't there or family isn't around, pop one of these discs in and you're good to go. These are the types of shows I want to show my kids in the future...Well, I'll hold onto a few episodes of Friends until they're old enough, but you catch my drift.

    • Taylor Swift goodie bags (wrapped to perfection in Taylor Swift gift bags) complete with Taylor Swift stationary, cards, and the Red CD, because it's just completely genius. You think she can't get any better, and BAM! Lyrically, this is some of the best she's ever written. In the bag, will also be tickets to her show at Staples Center, along with meet and greet passes. I think Taylor is probably the most charming person I've ever met. She listens to every word a fan says, she thanks you repeatedly for everything, she smells like heaven, and you can literally talk to her about anything. I've met a lot of incredibly nice people, but she takes the cake on generosity. She has such a warm personality, and the instant you meet her, it's like you're her long lost best friend. Honestly, it's the best feeling in
    • the world. Plus, the fact that she gives you fiftytwothousand hugs in a matter of 5.5 seconds is pretty freakin awesome as well. I just love her. This girl has been around practically all of my teen years, which are the most crucial in becoming who you want to be, and I have to say, there's a Taylor Swift lyric for everything I've gone through in that time. I can't say enough about how much she has inspired me in my writing, going after what I want, and just being okay with who you are; accepting and embracing what makes you different from everyone else. I'd say it worked out for her. I think if the people that can't stand her were actually able to meet her, they'd instantly take back every hateful comment they've ever said.
    • Urban Outfitters gift certificates. I absolutely adore this store. Every time I walk in, I feel like it should just be my closet, because there's not usually one thing in there that I wouldn't wear. They have the greatest selection for the perfect fall wardrobe. There are so many sweaters, dresses, pants, shoes, and purses. I could spend hours looking in there.
    • Smash books are probably the coolest form of scrapbooking I've ever seen. It feels like a lot of the pressure is off. Each page is decorated in a quirky way, fitting the theme of whatever book you buy. I have three of them, and never have any problem filling them up with some of my favorite quotes, favorite celebrities, inspirational pictures, and more. I have two that I've filled up with inspiration, but saved one just to document my summer in. I guess I should get on that, seeing as summer has been over for quite some time now.
    • A trip to Music City with tickets and behind the stage tour of The Grand Ole Opry.
I think country music gets a lot of flack for being about cheating, drinking, and all the stereotypical things. But, there's so much more to that. Visiting Nashville honestly helped me to see another side to the music that I never had before. It's a magical city, that's all I can say. Even if you aren't into country music, there's just a certain charm about it. There is so much talent everywhere you go, the people are pleasant, and the food is incredible. What more do you need? It's my favorite place on earth, and I would love to live there someday. Everyone would stay at the Union Station, just a few minutes from downtown, and also where Rascal Flatts shot the "I'll Be Home For Christmas" video. It's a gorgeous building made of stone and vintage looking pieces. Feels very homey.
    • "You get an ipad, you get an ipad...everybody gets an ipad!!!!!" Alright, so I get that it's no car...But, considering this would be my first year of "Favorite things", I probably wouldn't have the money for that. What to say about the ipads that everyone doesn't already know? You can do just about anything ohem, with millions of apps to choose from, music, notes, the web, books, and whatever else you want to do. It's also great to travel with.
    • The complete Nicholas Sparks repertoire. I love Nicholas Sparks' writing; his detail, the way he describes the simplest of things and makes them sound so beautiful, and the way he depicts love as this fascinating story, each with a different way of finding it. I think all girls should pretty much be required to read his stuff, because if you don't believe in finding "the one", you sure will after his books. You'll laugh...But, mostly you'll just bawl your eyes out. And the fact that so many of his books have been turned to screenplays, just goes to show you what a genius writer he is.
    • Bamboo pad. This is probably one of the coolest gadgets I've ever had. I found out about it through a blog I read religiously. One of the girls on the site posts and edits a ton of pictures, so she had started a new series giving step by step guides of how to do some of the things she had done. She talked about the bamboo pad, and how she was able to use her own handwriting on pictures through photoshop to do all sorts of things. Handwriting on pictures is something I've always been fascinated with and have tried to do for a long time now. I still have a lot to learn with it, and haven't used it in awhile, but I definitely need to. It's a great tool for any photographer or blogger.
Edge of Urge gift cards! I found out about this store through the girls of One Tree Hill, seeing as it's located in Wilmington, NC where the show was filmed. I had seen some of the items that Sophia Bush and Bethany Joy Lenz had worn, and loved them! In September, I was able to check it out for myself, and fell in love with it. I picked up a "B. Davis" North Carolina necklace like the one she had worn on the finale, but there were clothes, a feather bar, purses, shoes, and so many other things that I would've bought if I wasn't running low on cash.
    • Blackberry jam from Loveless Cafe. If you have never tried Blackberry Jam from The Loveless Cafe, then you are seriously missing out. I had never been much of a fan of jam or jelly, but I decided to have some on my biscuit one year while visiting, and it was incredible. We always buy a jar on our way out to bring home. It is delicious! It makes a great gift for yourself and for loved ones.
    • Flip Video Camera Around my junior year of high school, I became really big on documenting everything. I think it all goes back to Taylor Swift making her video blogs of what she was doing each month that really inspired that, and from there, my love of making videos on my MAC. I think everyone should have some sort of camera to record special moments, even if it's just a stupid video of yourself talking to the camera.
    • One year subscription with Netflix I love Netflix, and it has introduced me to so many incredible shows this year. Life gets busy, and there are always shows you want to check out, but end up not being able to, because you forget what time they're on or you missed a few episodes here and there. With Netflix, I was able to catch up on shows like One Tree Hill and The Vampire Diaries, and I love TV more now than I ever have before.
    • itunes gift cards I love iTunes, and this day in age...Who doesn't? You can never have enough music in your library, and I have been buying a lot more this year. I'm trying to expand my tastes, and listen to different things, and I would encourage everyone else to do the same.
    • Macbook When I was a junior in high school, my parents got me a Macbook for Christmas, and honestly, that is one of the days that changed my life. Alright, so I'm being dramatic, but really it did. I love everything about the Mac's operating system, and for all of the "creative" things I like to do, like making movies or messing around with creating podcasts, it's wonderful. I take it on trips with me to write, upload pictures, and just about everything else. Now, I've used a Mac for so long, it feels so weird using a PC. I think once you get used to the format and style, it's a piece of cake, and everyone should join Team Mac.

    • Scarves. Scarves were pretty much a signature trade of mine in high school. I was always trying to find really cool, unique scarves that could dress up an outfit. I think they add personality and a little extra something! Speaking of, I could use a few new ones.
    • Candles I just love the smell of candles. We don't light them very often around our house, unless company is coming over or it's a special occasion, but it always instantly feels more "home-y" when you do. I especially love the holiday scents that smell like pine trees or pumpkin pie. That way, if you aren't a good cook, the candle will at least give the illusion that you are. Plus, they make great gifts if you have no idea what to get for someone.
    • "Pink" sweatsuits When I was a sophomore in high school, pretty much everyone and their brother was obsessed with the new Pink brand at Victoria's Secret. Whenever I had money or whenever there was a holiday, usually I wanted something from there. I love the bright colors, the softness, and that they're a lot cheaper than Juicy Couture, yet great quality.
    • Park Hoppers to Disneyland for everyone!!  I've been a huge Disney fan basically since day one. I went to Disneyland for the first time when I was a year old (even though I was terrified of Mickey Mouse once we got there) and my love for Disney grew from there. My family and I would go three and four times a year, and I was never tired of it. It really is a magical place, even though everything costs an arm and a leg now. It really is a place to let loose and pretend to be a kid, even if just for a day! I think everyone should have this experience at least once in their life.
    • Built of Barnwood pieces Alright, I've never bought anything from Built of Barnwood (Ian Somerhalder, and his brother, Bob's organization), but I would love to. I absolutely love the designs, and the fact that it is used from old pieces of things they find around Georgia to be restored into something beautiful is amazing to me. It also doesn't hurt that they're signed by Ian himself either. I REALLY want one of these for Christmas!

    That's all for now,
    Shelby :)

    The Regular

"Sometimes you want to go...Where everybody knows your name,
And they're always glad you came,
You wanna be where you can see,
The troubles are all the same
You want to go where everybody knows your name."

For as long as I can remember, I've always had this sort of fascination for diners. I love the idea that you can see the same people on a daily basis in small towns. Everyone knows your business, everyone checks to make sure that you're okay, and it just has this really cozy feeling that even if the rest of your world sucks, you have that one place that is considered to be your safe haven. I've always wanted to be a "regular" somewhere, where they know my name, they know my story, and they remember what I order.
Until I find that special place, I thought I'd give you a list of fictional diner/restaurants that I wish really existed.

    1. Luke's Diner (Gilmore Girls):
I don't think there is anything more charming than Luke's Diner in Stars Hollow, CT. It's a town where it's generally always Fall time and the leaves are always an orange/yellow color, Babette and Miss Patty are always gossiping about someone, and the coffee is always brewing. What's not to love about that? I love the fact that the Gilmore Girls went to Luke's for just about every meal, yet you never got tired of it. In fact, some of their greatest moments and best dialogue happened here. The pacing of the diner and Luke's sarcastic, yet gentle personality makes it the kind of place that would never leave you starved for entertainment. Especially when Kirk shows up.

          2. Central Perk (Friends):
One of the most recognizable sets of all time has to be that of the famous coffeehouse from Friends, Central Perk. It didn't matter what time of day it was, you could usually find the gang, just having a cup of Joe, while Gunther is staring at Rachel from behind the counter, dreaming of the day that she'd be his. I love that just by watching an episode of Friends, you feel like you're included in their tight knit group, and that's the genius of it. When you turn on an episode, you feel like you're hanging out with your friends. You're always guaranteed for a laugh! Besides, who wouldn't want to drink out of one of those awesome coffee cups?

       3. Karen's Cafe (One Tree Hill):
Ah, Karen's Cafe. It always just gave that sense of home; you know that as soon as you walk in, things are going to get just a little bit better. Karen was always there with some sort of word of advice, and later on in years, she passed that torch to Haley and Brooke. Tree Hill had to deal with a lot of crap, as I've talked about before, but even if just for a few minutes, you could forget all about your problems, and spend time with some pretty great company.

         4. Mystic Grill (The Vampire Diaries):
Alright, maybe I don't wish this was necessarily a real cafe, because as much as I love the show, I don't want to deal with vampires in my normal life. But, let's face it, who wouldn't want to run into one of those good looking Salvatore brothers? Or maybe you could have a conversation with Elena, and ask her how she deals with her life. I mean, really, if she can turn into a vampire, while still staying calm, you can pull through whatever it is you're going through. Just to put things into perspective, of course.

What are some of your favorite fictional places that you wish were real? Let me know in the comments or on Twitter.

    That's all for now,
    Shelby :)

    Goodbye Speak Now, Hello Red!

Taylor Swift's brand new CD, Red was released yesterday, and this is just the beginning of "Release Week." With Taylor, nothing is ever done just halfway. She goes all out for every occasion, and makes the fans feel as if they are part of something just as special with her. She makes plenty of appearances around New York (mainly) and LA, saying thank you to the fans and launching a new era and time in her life.

I love that each of her CD's really does become a theme in its own way. We were introduced to "Taylor Swift" with her first CD; a girl who believed in the beauty of dreams and made us fall in love with love again, as well as country music. Then, she taught us to be "Fearless"; go for those opportunities that seem a little terrifying, because they're usually the most rewarding. Next up, was "Speak Now"; If you know what you need to say, then you should say it, because you don't know when you'll ever get another chance. And that brings us to "Red"; love is a lot of shades of red, and each one causes a different emotion for us, and that's how powerful it is on us. I also believe it's such a classy color, and Taylor wears it so well. As she gets older, she becomes even more elegant. I think this "Red" era not only reflects in her music, but her personal style evolution over the years, as well.

A couple years ago, in 2010, my mom and I went to the Ellen show taping for the album release party of Speak Now. There were no available tickets in the audience, but because my mom had been writing in to Ellen, they invited us into the Riff Raff Room, which is basically show overflow. We watched the show from the back room, and when Taylor sang "Back To December," they let all of us sit on the steps to the stage to watch her perform. She came over after to shake some hands, and to sign autographs for a few people, and I got a little bit closer to her. It was a fun experience to be part of. We were going to attend another taping for her Speak Now special on Hollywood Blvd., but it didn't work out. In the end, it was totally fine.

This years release week, we should have been attending the Ellen taping once again for a mini concert (which airs tomorrow), but we weren't able to, due to the Carrie Underwood concert being the same night. Obviously, there is a reason for all of these missed moments, so we shall see what the future holds. A majority of her events took place in New York, and she truly turned it into one big party. A ton of my Taylor friends were able to attend whether it was from winning a contest or being a "Taylor Follower" giving official updates and keeping everyone in the loop. Seeing everyone's pictures at David Letterman, The Katie Show, Good Morning America, and others made me wish I was there. One of these days, I'll be there!

Even if you weren't able to attend release week tapings or any special events, you can catch them on TV when they air (like I am) or catch up on a fan site dedicated to all things Taylor. You can catch her performances from The View, The Late Show with David Letterman, and Good Morning America, as well as a few other surprises in between. Be sure to catch her on:

    • The Ellen Degeneres Show (Check your local listings for times)
    • The Katie Show on Friday (Again, check local listings)

What an exciting launch to a big change for Taylor! I'm excited to be on this new journey with her.

    That's all for now,
    Shelby

    The Vampire Diaries Commentary

I've been wanting to try commentaries on a show for quite some time now, and since The Vampire Diaries is my current obsession at the moment, I felt like this was the perfect timing. My friend and I did a commentary for the last episode over the weekend, and I finished editing it and putting it together just in time for tomorrow night's episode. We'd really like to keep it going for the rest of the season, so we'll see! These are the videos: here (Part one), here (part two), here (part three), and here (part four). It's the length of a full episode- about 40 or so minutes, but we think it's totally worth it. Though, we might be a little biased.

Your feedback is much appreciated. Let us know what you think or what else you'd like to see in the comments below or on our Twitter accounts, which are featured at the end of the video. Hope you enjoy! :)

    That's all for now,
    Shelby

    The Weekend Review

It wasn't an ordinary weekend, as I guess most of mine haven't been lately. I woke up close to 11, which was a lot later than I had planned on, but I was wiped out. My parents had some things to take care of, so I just took care of some things that I needed to around the house.

Ian Somerhalder's nephew follows me on Twitter..WHOA!

After we were all ready to go, we decided to go to Outback, and I ended up running into one of my friends I haven't seen in awhile. It was good catching up with her, and the food was so good as always! We came home for a little while, because we were having a new couch delivered, and they were actually on time, which was good.

After getting things set up, we realized we needed a few things at Wal-Mart, so we headed over there for a little while. I ended up getting the Country Weekly with Taylor Swift on it and some snacks when my friend, Sarah came over.
My parents dropped me back off at the house to run an errand, they came home, and pretty soon, my friend, Sarah, came over. We had been talking for the longest time about getting together, so we decided to have a "sleepover." We had so much fun together! It was honestly the first time we've ever really hung out for any length of time, other than texting, which doesn't count. We talked for almost four hours about life and catching each other up on our high school years. We covered a lot!
Then, we decided to make a commentary video of the latest Vampire Diaries episode, because we're both obsessed with it. You can be expecting the full show pretty soon; I'm going to try to post it later this week before episode three. We had a lot of fun just rambling, and taking some pictures. We ate pizza that my parents brought home and chatted with my mom for a bit, then went back to my room to finish the video. After that, we sat on my bed, listened to some T. Swift, and just talked some more, while tweeting random celebrities (Justin Bieber and Ian Somerhalder) and comparing followers, because we're cool like that. I think we both finally fell asleep around 2:30 or so.

    Sunday:
The next morning, we woke up around eight, so we had plenty of time to get ready. Sarah curled my hair with "the wand" and I absolutely loved it! I really need to think about getting one soon. We had fun just chillin and getting all purdied up. When we were all dressed up, it was time for church. It was a really great service about having faith in a BIG God. It was about truly stepping back and letting God do all that He is capable of, in our relationships, career, etc. I truly believe that He is going to do BIG things in my life, but sometimes it's hard to remember that when we go through dry spells.
After service ended, we visited around for a few minutes, saying hi to people we knew. My mom also bought tickets to see Mercy Me tickets in December when they come to our church, which is extremely exciting!
We decided to have lunch at Chilli's, but we had to stop at my aunt's house, so my mom could check on her cat. I called ahead to put our name down, but I ended up saying, "I'd like to place an order for four.." Or something really lame like that, and felt like complete idiot. Sarah and I decided to take a ton of pictures to document this special weekend, while my mom ran inside and I finished the phone call to pass the time.

We headed to eat after that, and there was a lot of conversation with Sarah; talking about everything from traveling to American Idol, and a lot of other random things in between. It was really good getting to spend time with her. When we finished, her mom picked her up, and we said goodbye. It was such a wonderful time, and I can't wait until we're able to hang out again.
A lot of the afternoon, I tried to work on homework, because I realized that I had waited just a little too long on everything, so I had a lot of catching up to do. I was extremely stressed out, and didn't have the ability to focus for whatever reason. I am feeling really discouraged by this whole college experience, and the math class I'm taking especially. I keep thinking that one of these days, some big moment is going to happen and everything is going to change, and I won't feel this way anymore, but no such luck so far.

After awhile, my parents and I decided to check out the pumpkin patch not too far away from our house. I was really excited to finally be doing something festive for this month, and going to the pumpkin patch is always a highlight for me. It's perfectly set for fall, with leaves changing color, a small lake at the center, surrounded by pumpkins, squash, and scarecrows. Luckily, a cooler breeze was blowing, and it wasn't hot like last year. There's nothing worse than it not feeling like the season you're in. Thank you, California. We looked around for quite some time, in search of the "perfect pumpkin," but it just wasn't there.

We decided to go to Save Mart, because my dad had mentioned they had some good ones. Boy, was he right! We each found one that was just right. We picked up a few other items, and came home. We picked up dinner a little after that, and ran another errand. I wasn't in a good mood, and wasn't feeling great, and just wanted to be home. It was a pretty nice night, just watching TV on our new couch; getting homework done, and anticipating the new CD from Taylor Swift, Red, while talking to friends. I also watched Married To Jonas. Alright, so maybe it's not exactly anything glamorous, but it doesn't have to be. I'm learning to be content with whatever I'm doing, whoever I'm with, and wherever that may be. Gotta enjoy the ride, wherever it takes me.

It was a really great weekend, but it went way too fast! Now, it's back to more homework and planning, because life slows down for no one.

    That's all for now,
    Shelby
